Well, it has been a LONG time since I did a Stacking the Shelves posting! Mostly this was due to the fact that my lack of a job has been preventing me from spending any money on books. Instead, I’ve been relying on my faithful old library card to feed my reading addiction. Over the past two weeks, however, I’ve had a number of books arrive in the mail from my friends, publishers, and some pre-orders that I placed a month ago. So, without further ado, here are the books that I received/purchased for the month of September!
The End of Your Life Book Club by Will Schwalbe I was absolutely ecstatic when I received a finished copy of this book in the mail from Random House Canada! I’ve been hearing a lot of amazing things about it from many of my blogging friends, so I can’t wait to crack it open and get started! The End of Your Life Book Club hits shelves this Tuesday!
The Diviners by Libba Bray The day before The Diviners came out in stores I was taken by complete surprise when a copy appeared in my mailbox from Hachette Canada! I was so excited that I sat down and started reading it immediately! Look for my review of this book on the blog in the next couple of days 🙂
Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell Ever since I saw the movie trailer for Cloud Atlas I have been dying to get my hands on a copy of the book. When I discovered that my local library did not have a copy in its system, I broke down and ordered it from online. Hopefully I can get through the entire book before the film hits theatres!
Soulless by Gail Carriger After devouring the manga version of the first book in Carriger’s popular series, I just had to get my hands on a copy of the original book! Unfortunately, the library only had the second and third book in the series in its collection, so once again I broke down and purchased a copy! If its as thrilling as the manga was, I know that I’ll absolutely love it!
Drama by Raina Telgemeier After gushing over how cute this book looked on my friend’s blog, she completely surprised me by offering to send me a copy so that I could read it for myself! Yup….she’s pretty amazing! The book was as cute and adorable as it looks! I just couldn’t put it down! Look for my review of Drama on the blog this week! For now, check out my friend Chelsey’s review.
