Tea Time: Perdita

perdiatTea: Raspberry Riot Lemon (Teavana)
This Mate tea tastes exactly like a cup of Raspberry Lemonade! Sweet with just the right amount of zing, it would definitely make an excellent summer time tea! One of the workers at Teavana mentioned that this particular tea is also great iced, so I definitely plan on mixing myself up a cold glass to try when summer finally rolls around.

Book: Perdita by Hilary Scharper
This book was sent to me for review from Simon and Schuster Canada. The novel focuses on Garth, a university professor who spends his time interviewing the oldest living people on the planet as part of the Longevity Project. Nothing has prepared him for Marged Brice, however, who claims to be 134 years old despite looking much younger. While Marged wishes to die, she tells Garth that she is being held back by a presence known as Perdita. Despite being skeptical, Garth agrees to read Marged’s journals dating back to the late 1890s, and is soon swept away by her story. There is a great gothic feel to the writing, and I love how the author has split the narrative between Garth and Marged’s journals. I’m only 50 pages into the book so far, but I’m already incredibly curious about the identity of Perdita and her role in the life of Marged!
