Reading in 2015!

new yearHappy New Year! And welcome to 2015! This past year was a fantastic reading year for me! Altogether I read 136 books, which was just 14 books short of my 150 goal. While some people would be disappointed by not meeting their reading goals, I’m pretty happy with what I accomplished. Plus, it’s 8 books more then I read the year before!

Other great bookish things that happened in 2014 include meeting awesome authors like Gayle Forman, E. Lockhart, and Kit Pearson at the Toronto Inspire International Book Fair, having dinner with Melissa de la Cruz, seeing a huge surge in the number of likes on my blog’s Facebook page, and attending the OLA conference in Toronto!

My goals for 2015 are pretty similar to last year. I’m hoping to continue blogging on a regular basis (at least once or twice a week), find full-time work, and attend as many bookish events as possible! While I’m hoping to read a lot in 2015, I’m shortening my Goodreads reading goal back down to 125 for this year. The first reason is that I failed to meet my crazy goal of 150 books this year, and I don’t want to fail again. The second reason is that I’m getting married in April, so I have a feeling that my free time to read will be greatly decreasing as the wedding gets closer!

I’m also hoping to once again tackle my ever growing TBR pile that is slowly growing beside my bed. The books below are just some of the novels that I’m hoping to tackle this year. Which book do you think I should start with? What are your reading goals for 2015?

  1. Looks like some fun books you have planned. Congrats on getting married. Good luck with your reading goals. I sort of fell off the face of the planet when I got married. Craziness!

  2. Over 100 books in a year baffles me! You are amazing lol. I can only dream of that ever happening to me! Awesome job, Nat :).
I can’t wait to see what you think of The Ocean at the End of the Lane. I still remember reading this one passage and this one particular line. It was one of those “stop and revel in the existence of such beautiful imagery and writing” moments lol.
Best of luck with your 2015 goals! And woooohoo wedding!
