I can’t believe that it’s the end of February already! That’s crazy!! At least we are starting to get closer to spring! I don’t know about you but I’ve had enough of this horrible, cold, snowy winter! I can’t wait until it starts to warm up! Anyways… Part of the reason why I think this month went by so quickly was all of the insane wedding preparations that have been going on! So, as you will see, my February picks for this month are somewhat focused on things that helped me to relax from the stresses of wedding planning!
Tea Forte: Cucumber Mint Green Tea
I’m not going to lie. One of the things that I love most about this tea is the packaging. I’ve NEVER seen a tea bag like this before! The bag is made out of a mesh like material which makes it more durable and easy to steep multiple times. And the string on the top is sturdy and bendable, making it easy to keep the entire bag from falling completely in your tea. Also, it tastes pretty good! It definitely tastes much more of mint than cucumber, but there is also a hint of blueberries to the tea which I did not expect!
This past month I have taken up going to yoga at the gym by my house. I’ve always been intrigued by yoga, but my fear of looking stupid and making mistakes prevented me from giving it a chance. Well, this year I decided to put my irrational fear to the side and give it a try! And I LOVE it! Sure, I am by far the worst person in the class, but I’ve surprised myself by how quickly I’ve caught on and improved. Plus, I love how relaxed and good I feel after! Every time I’ve started to feel stressed out, I’ve headed to the yoga studio and it quickly changes my mood from anxious to zen! If you haven’t tried yoga yet, give it a try! You might be surprised by how much you enjoy it!
I love a good BBC drama. From Downton Abbey to Call the Midwife and Mr. Selfridge, I just can’t get enough! My newest obsession is BBC’s The Paradise! Like Mr. Selfridge, The Paradise focuses on a department store and its employees in the late 1800s. As you can imagine there is romance, mischief, and even a murder or two! I was surprised by the fact that even my Dad got hooked on the show! At first he was upset that he couldn’t watch his usual shows on HGTV, but by the next day he was actually begging me to start watching the next disc! So, if you love the BBC then make sure to check out this new(ish) series!
With one of my friends home from New York City for Spring Break, my friends and I decided to celebrate my Bachlorette early by going to the spa! I had never been to a spa before, so naturally I was pretty darn excited! I chose to have a 25 minute massage and a 50 minute facial. The 25 minute massage was definitely not long enough! I didn’t want it to end! The facial, however, was by far my favourite part of the day. The room was dimmed, there were bird sounds playing, and I got to just lay back and relax. It may have been my first time to the spa, but it definitely won’t be my last! It’s always nice to treat yourself once in a while, right?
For those of you who don’t already know, I’ve chosen to get married on the day when both of my grandparents were married. That’s right…BOTH. My mom’s parents and my dad’s parents were both married on April 18th, 1952.They even went on the same honeymoon! How crazy is that?! In order to honour my grandparents and highlight the significance of the day, I decided to order some bouquet charms from Etsy with the wedding photos of my grandparents. They turned out perfectly and I can’t wait to see how they look on the actual bouquet!
