May was certainly a crazy month, but I’m happy to say that I think things in my life are finally calming down! I’ve gotten into the swing of things at my new job, my husband and I have found a condo close to both of our jobs to rent, and my long-distance commuting will soon be at an end! Yay!
Besides the utter joy at finally finding a decent place to live, here are some of the other things I discovered and fell in love with this past month!
(Yes…You read that right!)
I was looking for some bright, fun, comfortable pants to wear to work, and RW & Co did not disappoint! I was walking by their window when I saw an assortment of colourful jeggings on display. I went in to have a closer look and discovered that they were even called Natalie Pants! How could I resist? They actually ended up being incredibly comfortable, and they’ve become my new favourite pants! Now I’m just waiting for their next sale so that I can go back and buy some more in different colours!
My husband and I recently became hooked on this show! It is SO GOOD! The show takes place almost 100 years after the Earth has been made uninhabitable due to nuclear war. A small number of the human population managed to escape to space, but with supplies becoming limited, a return to Earth is now inevitable. In order to discover if Earth is still radioactive and too dangerous to survive on, 100 juvenile delinquents are sent down to attempt to colonize the planet. It’s Lord of the Flies-esque plot drew me in immediately, and the drama and characters kept me coming back for more! I can’t wait to watch the next season once it’s available on Netflix!
Peanut Butter Pie
I swear there must be some kind of good cooking gene out there because pretty much everyone on my husband’s side of the family are fantastic cooks! Unfortunately, this gene did not pass to my husband, but luckily the two of us get to feast upon the divine creations made by everyone else. One such delicious design was a peanut butter pie made by his cousin for the May long weekend! It was SO GOOD! I think I ate half the pie just on my own! My husband’s cousin and his sister are both vegan, so she made the recipe by combining the crust from this recipe
, and the peanut butter layer found in this recipe
. Needless to say I can’t wait until my next day off so that I can try making it for myself!
If you read my post this past month then you know that I am currently obsessed with audiobooks! They make my commute fly by and help me to continually tackle my TBR pile now that my reading time has been cut short. I listened to four different audiobooks in May, but one audiobook in particular that caught my fancy was An Ember In the Ashes! The story was really compelling and the narration was done perfectly! It’s definitely worth checking out!
